AWARD - Národná cena za študentský design
Koyaanisqatsi je hybridným projektom, ktorý balansuje na rozmedzí performance, fashion show a filmu. Ide o komplexný projekt pozostávajúci z viacerých umeleckých zložiek a je možné ho vnímať na rôznych úrovniach – ako odevnú kolekciu, ako film alebo ako performance.
Hlavnou zložkou projektu je odevná kolekcia postavená na syntéze východnej a západnej estetiky. Syntéza sa odohráva priamo na kusoch odevov, no taktiež na stylingu, na technológii a spôsobe spracovania. Kolekcia bola prezentovaná atypickou formou performance v priestoroch Zrkadlového labyrintu v Kaleidoskopickom kine v Prahe.
Diváci sa mohli počas performance voľne pohybovať po priestore a zvoliť si, či chcú kolekciu vidieť priamo vnútri v Zrkadlovom labyrinte, alebo ju pozorovať v priestoroch mimo labyrintu. Pri zvolení jedného zo spôsobov „videnia“ projektu sa divákovi znemožnili iné spôsoby, a tak technicky nebolo možné vidieť „kompletnú“ performance. Každý z divákov videl len jej časť a kompletný obraz sa vytvoril až v momente, keď si diváci navzájom vymenili svoje dojmy a pozorovania.
Celkový obraz performance a projektu tak nabral tvar až v mysliach divákov – nemal fyzickú prítomnosť. Ten kto videl film, nevidel labyrint, ten kto videl labyrint, nevidel performance, ten kto videl performance, nevidel film. Koncept je štúdiou ľudskej nedokonalosti vnímania a paradoxu uhlu pohľadu. Videolookbook kolekcie je taktiež založený na paradoxnej vizualite, kde sa „white cube“ svet mení na „kaleidoskopickú realitu“ v zrkadlovom labyrinte a naopak.
